Therapy for Empaths & Highly Sensitive Persons

For the deep-feelers and overthinkers, the creatives and the neurospicy, the ones who use dark humor to cope when it all feels like too much.

Let’s turn your sensory sensitivity into a strength.

Your sensitivity is a superpower. And I’m here to help you heal your nervous system so you can finally embrace it.

You’re not too much.

You’ve been told you’re too dramatic.

Too loud. Too sensitive. Too much.

And you’ve spent your whole life trying to please everyone.

You’ve tried so hard to stop crying, stop caring, stop saying yes to everyone all the time.

But it’s not that easy. And internally, you’re struggling:

  • “How do I learn to care without being completely swept up?”

  • “Everything is easier if I just isolate.”

  • “I can’t say no, because I can’t stand letting anyone down.”

  • “Why can’t I handle even the smallest criticism?”

  • “I’m just so exhausted and done.”

It makes sense that you feel this way.

Because you are remarkably attuned to the world.

But you can’t keep going on this way. You need a tailored approach to navigating the world.

You’re more capable than you think.

Rather than being too much, you’re actually more capable than you realize.

You intuitively understand situations.

You empathize with everyone (even when you’re trying not to).

And you have a knack for subsonically sensing what’s happening in a room the moment you enter.

But your nervous system is beyond overstimulated. And without the support of boundaries, you’re constantly being infiltrated by the often unspoken demands of others.

You’re like a room with no walls and no roof. You’re relentlessly bombarded with sensory input. Rain or shine, you feel it all, all the time. You have no protection from the elements. And your body can’t handle it any longer.

Highly sensitive people like us have to work very specifically to protect our sensory input, or we’ll be demolished by the onslaught of the world.

Tailored Therapy for Highly Sensitive People

Your system is wired differently, and it needs a different way of operating in the world.

There isn’t one track for everyone, but there are a couple of fundamentals that most HSPs need.

First, we need to heal your nervous system. It’s likely been overtaxed and neglected for far too long. Through somatic techniques and nervous system regulation, we can bring your body back to a state of calm.

Then comes the work of setting boundaries.

Boundaries are a hot topic in culture right now, but for highly sensitive people, they are essential. We’ll work together to tailor an approach to boundaries that works for your real life, feels good to your body, and is sustainable for the long haul.

Because our world is starved for the gift you offer with your sensitivity. And even though it may feel like a burden right now, I’m here to help you heal your nervous system so you can tap into your superpower and finally see yourself as the wonderful gift you are.

When Sensitivity Becomes Your Superpower

When you learn to hone your sensitivity as a strength, you finally feel as capable as you’ve always been.

In time, you begin noticing:

You’re not judging yourself all the time.

You feel more regulated and calm in your body.

You’re able to pause your thoughts when they start racing.

You have clear boundaries that feel protective rather than punishing.

You understand yourself and finally feel compassion for your sensitivity.

For the first time in your life, you’re not constantly shutting yourself down or feeling ashamed for how you’re wired. You’re excited about your unique ability to relate to others and offer connection in the world.

As a fellow neurodivergent, I’ve also had to find ways to adjust my life to my unique wiring.

Our world isn’t built with us in mind, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make our own way.

The magical thing is that with heightened sensitivity often comes creativity and passion. We are the helpers. The caregivers. The glue that holds people together.

And because of all that, there’s a good chance you’re tired. I can relate.

Perhaps one of the best things about working together is that I’m right there with you, figuring out how to thrive in a world that can feel like it’s working against you. I have a whole portfolio of techniques, tools, and practices to help you find what works for you. And along the way, you won’t feel a bit of judgment here, because I’m right there with you.

Why I Love Working with HSPs

Hi, I’m Julia.

I got into this work because I've seen what real healing looks like. And I've seen what it looks like when it doesn't happen.

Across every setting I've worked in, jails, inpatient hospitals, clinics, group practices, I kept meeting people who were trying so hard. Showing up, doing the work, and still feeling stuck. That stayed with me.

It's part of why I'm so drawn to EMDR, parts work, and somatic therapy. Not just as a clinician, but as someone who has done this work myself. I know what it feels like to understand something about yourself and still not feel any different. I also know what it feels like when something finally shifts, when the body starts to release what it's been holding onto for years.

That's what I want for the people I work with.

Watching someone who has spent years just surviving start to actually live. Seeing them feel lighter, more like themselves. Knowing that one person's healing ripples out into everything around them.

That's why I show up every day.

HOW I WORK

Every person who comes to me has a different story. But the work follows the same foundation:

We begin by assessing what's fragmented in your mind and body, and we build from there.

Building internal safety first

As we begin addressing the current symptoms you’re experiencing, you’ll likely move through some uncomfortable feelings. That’s where my holistic approach to therapy comes in. When your body and mind feel disjointed, it can be very difficult to feel safe. Your mind is saying one thing, but your body is trying to communicate another. Through emotional and somatic processing, as well as bilateral stimulation, I help you build a sense of internal safety and cohesion.

This holistic approach to your body and mind lays the foundation for EMDR.

PARTS WORK - SOMATIC

Processing what's been stored.

From there, we bring in EMDR & Somatic therapy. Bilateral stimulation along with the EMDR protocol helps the brain and nervous system integrate what hasn’t been properly processed, often material that has never been fully reached through talking alone. The body begins to release what it's been holding. Slowly, the patterns that once felt impossible to shift start to move. The mind and body work together to process what has been stored.

At your pace, always

There's no fixed protocol here. Some people are ready to go deep from the very first session. Others need months to build the foundation before we get there. I follow your lead and work at the pace your system can handle.

ATTUNED CARE

The goal throughout is the same: not just understanding what happened, but actually feeling different because of the work.

Embracing your sensitivity as a strength is possible.

You are not a burden.

And your sensitivity is not the problem.

If you’re ready to flip the script and embrace your sensitivity as a superpower, I’m here to help.
